As a professional photographer from Lisbon, I wanted to take J&D up into the Sintra mountains and along the Cascais coast so they too could experience its beauty. So I was super excited when they asked to hire a professional photographer for a tour in Lisbon.
With the risk of sounding a bit partial, I do believe Portugal to be one of the most beautiful countries to live in. Places like Cascais and Sintra seem to have it all and are such a short distance from each other! Celebrate your wedding anniversary with a photo session
I love to shoot small events like engagement photo sessions and elopements in the Lisbon area. On this particular photo shoot, we got to know J&D, who were celebrating 5 years of marriage. So it was a great opportunity to spoil them.
We took them along a coastal road from Cascais to Cabo da Roca. It’s the most western point of Europe. Cascais is also a beautiful fishing village for photography. It’s known for its seafood, lovely marina, and charming hotels just walking distance from the center of the village.
Discover Palácio Monserrate on your photo shoot
We were so lucky to visit Sintra on our tour and decided to visit Palácio Monserrate. As it was low season, and perfect to take pictures despite it being winter, we were able to take some beautiful photos of J&D. Lisbon has so many secret places for photo shoots, in close proximity. So, in less than twenty minutes you can be in Sintra, Cascais or Lisbon by car.
Not only is Sintra full of palaces and castles, but it’s surrounded by enchanted forests where you can find peaceful places to rest. We weren’t in a hurry during this tour, so we sauntered through the palace gardens and took photos in all its secret corners.
Hiring a professional photographer has its perks.
Driving down from Sintra, we wanted to capture the last rays of light. When I take my clients on a tour during our photo sessions, I always try to find the coolest places that capture Lisbon at its best. So, sunset near Guincho beach is always my first choice location for photography.
Guincho tends to be windy, so we found this abandoned fort near the beach at just the right moment.
